NY-NJ Harbor & Estuary Program
PUBLIC WORKSHOPS
Roused for rivers? Swayed by bays? Raise your voice! The NY-NJ Harbor & Estuary Program (HEP) wants to hear your priorities for improving the waters, waterfronts, and watersheds of the New York-New Jersey Harbor Estuary. From Poughkeepsie to Perth Amboy, from the Bronx to the Bayshore, we want your vision to shape our upcoming Action Agenda.
Our Mission
HEP’s 2017 Action Agenda – a critical mandate of the Clean Water Act -- will guide the government agencies, civic organizations, scientists, and utilities that make up HEP to create a common agenda. In short, how HEP goes about using its funding, research, and programmatic capacities to clean up water, improve fish and wildlife habitat, expand public access, and ensure a sustainable and viable port, all depends on how you decide to weigh-in.

Take the Quick Survey
-Win an Eco-tour!
We hope you can make one of our Public Workshops. But if you cannot, please take a few minutes to answer twelve short questions about your priorities about the Estuary. Two lucky respondents will win a pair of tickets to the NY Water Taxi’s summer eco-tours with NYC Audubon, and two others will receive a pair of tickets to a whale watching adventure tour with American Princess Cruises and Gotham Whale. The Audubon eco-tours take you close enough to get great views of such birds as the Black-Crowned Night-Heron, Glossy Ibis, Double-Crested Cormorant, Egret, and many more! The Gotham Whale tours will give you an opportunity see humpbacks and bottlenose dolphins! Winners of these tickets will be randomly selected and notified by email in early August.
