About the Program:
Program Committees & Work Groups - Regional Sediment Management

The Regional Sediment Management Work Group was established by the HEP Policy Committee in September 2005 and replaced the earlier Dredged Material Management Integration Work Group (click here). The group has recently completed a Regional Sediment Management Plan that is centered on sediment quality, sediment quantity, and dredged material.

The vision established for this effort is that, “Sediments of the New York-New Jersey Harbor will support and sustain both a healthy ecosystem, including sensitive life stages, and a robust regional economy. Sediments will be managed as a resource to achieve this vision.”

For more information on the Regional Sediment Management Work Group, contact the work group co-chairs: John Tavolaro of the US Army Corps of Engineers at 917-790-8403 or Dennis Suszkowski of the Hudson River Foundation at 212-483-7667.
